Photos marked * are the ones we really need. Tap the small i next to any question if you're not sure what we mean.

New installation details

The more detail and photos, the more accurate (and competitive) your quote — and the better the chance we fix it in one trip.

Count the floor, wall, or ceiling vents (registers) that blow air OUT into your rooms — don't count the big return grille that pulls air back in. This tells us how much air your system moves so we size the new equipment right.

Roughly how many windows are in the area this system heats & cools. More glass = more heating/cooling load.

Which floors does this system condition? e.g. “main + upstairs” or “basement + main.”

Slide out your current filter and read the size printed on its cardboard edge, like 16x25x1 (length x width x thickness). If you have more than one filter, list each size.

The tall metal furnace cabinet (usually in a basement, closet, garage, or attic). Measure floor-to-top of the metal box. This confirms the new equipment will fit.

Width of that same metal furnace cabinet.

The evaporator coil is the box sitting ON TOP of the furnace, where the copper refrigerant lines connect. Measure that box top-to-bottom (height).

Width of the coil box on top of the furnace.

The maker — Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, etc. It's printed on the metal data sticker on the outdoor unit and on the furnace. Not sure? Just snap the sticker photo below and we'll read it.

Look for the metal data plate on the OUTDOOR unit (and inside the furnace door). It's labeled “Model” or “M/N” — a mix of letters and numbers. Easiest option: take a clear photo of the whole sticker and attach it below, and we'll read it for you.

Efficiency is rated in SEER2 (cooling) and AFUE (heating) — higher numbers cost a bit more up front but lower your monthly bills and may qualify for rebates. Not sure? Choose “recommend for me” and we'll lay out the options.

What's the difference? (Heat pump vs AC)

AC only cools; your furnace handles heat. A heat pump does both and is very efficient — often lowering bills — but in deep cold it leans on backup heat. Heat pumps cost a bit more up front and can qualify for rebates. Not sure? We'll recommend the best fit for your home and budget.

An 80% furnace vents through a metal flue and costs less up front. A 90%+ furnace vents through white PVC pipe and burns less gas. Not sure which you have? Choose “recommend for me.”

Where the furnace and coil live — an unfinished basement with open framing, or a finished room with drywall. It affects how we route the line set.

Show how the copper line set runs from the indoor coil toward the outside — and whether it's exposed or hidden behind drywall. Walk the path and snap a few shots.

Capture the furnace/air handler from the left, the center, and the right; add one close-up of the unit and one wide shot showing the whole room or closet. This lets us plan the install and spot anything tricky before we arrive.

The outdoor A/C or heat-pump unit (the one with the fan on top), from at least 3 different angles, plus a step-back shot showing how much space is around it.

We need the model & serial from BOTH the indoor and outdoor units — a clear photo of each nameplate, or the typed numbers. Without it we usually can't quote the right equipment.

Anything that makes getting to the units harder — stairs, narrow gates, locked areas, landscaping, pets.

Repair details

The more detail and photos you share, the better — it helps us pinpoint the problem and often fix it in one trip.

Indoor = the furnace/air handler inside. Outdoor = the unit outside the house. Not sure is fine.

Details often help us spot the issue before we arrive and come prepared with the right parts.

Model & serial — indoor and outdoor

We need the model & serial from BOTH the indoor (furnace/air handler) and outdoor unit to order the right part — a clear photo of each nameplate, or the typed numbers. Without it we usually can't price the repair.

Mini-split details

Photos of the inside spot, the outside, and your home help us size it right.

Each indoor head handles one room or zone. Choose how many, and we'll ask a couple quick details about each room.
