Ductless Mini-Split Installation & Repair
Quiet, efficient heating and cooling for the spaces ductwork can’t reach — additions, basements, garages, and rooms that never feel right. We install right-sized, properly commissioned ductless mini-splits and repair every brand across the Salt Lake Valley.
What a ductless mini-split is
A ductless mini-split is a heat pump that skips the ductwork. A small outdoor unit connects to one or more wall- or ceiling-mounted indoor heads through a slim refrigerant line set. Each head is its own zone with its own thermostat, so you heat and cool only the rooms you’re using — quietly and very efficiently. Want the bigger picture? See our HVAC systems guide.
Because a mini-split both heats and cools, it can replace window units and space heaters, condition a space your main system can’t keep up with, or add comfort without the cost and mess of running new ducts.
Where mini-splits shine
- Additions & finished basements/attics the main system was never sized to handle.
- Garages, shops & gyms that need their own comfort without extending the ductwork.
- That one room — a hot upstairs bedroom, a sunroom, an office over the garage — that’s always too hot or too cold.
- Older homes with no ductwork (boiler or radiant heat) that want real cooling without tearing into walls.
- Whole-home multi-zone systems for homes that want efficient, room-by-room control.
If you’re fighting uneven temperatures, a mini-split is often the cleanest fix — see also our airflow & even-temperature work.
What’s included in every mini-split install
Right-sized for the space
We size the system with a real load calculation for the room or rooms it’s conditioning — an oversized mini-split short-cycles and never dehumidifies, an undersized one can’t keep up. Right-sizing is what makes it comfortable and efficient.
Clean line set & a proper vacuum
A mini-split lives and dies by the refrigerant line set. We route it cleanly, pull a deep vacuum to remove moisture and air, and weigh in the exact charge — the steps that keep an inverter system running quietly for years.
Surge protection & commissioned to spec
Inverter electronics are sensitive, so we include surge protection, then verify the system runs to the manufacturer’s spec in both heating and cooling and email you a System Health Report. Every install is permitted and done to code.
Mini-split repair on every brand
We repair all ductless brands. Common issues include low refrigerant from a line-set leak, a failed indoor or outdoor fan motor, communication/control board faults between the head and outdoor unit, a clogged condensate line causing the head to drip, and dirty blower wheels or filters that cut airflow and air quality. We diagnose the real cause, use an inspection camera to check inside the head and coil for buildup, and quote the repair upfront — backed by our 1-year warranty and a free diagnostic for 30 days after.
10-year parts warranty + 2-year labor warranty
A new mini-split is covered two ways: a 10-year manufacturer parts warranty on select brands (with registration), plus our own 2-year labor warranty that includes free diagnostics if anything comes up in those two years.
Repair pricing & free install quotes
For a mini-split repair, our diagnostic is a flat $80 (credited toward the repair). For a new mini-split installation, you’ll get a free in-home estimate and a clear written proposal — the price depends on the number of zones and your home.
We offer flexible financing, and mini-splits may qualify for rebates and tax credits we’ll help you find. See full pricing & service hours →

Ductless mini-split questions
Can a mini-split heat in winter?
Yes — a mini-split is a heat pump, so it heats and cools. Cold-climate models keep producing heat well below freezing, which makes them a strong fit for additions and rooms that are hard to heat in Utah.
How many indoor heads do I need?
One head per zone (room or area) you want to control. A single head is perfect for one room; a multi-zone outdoor unit can run several heads. We’ll recommend the right setup for your space.
Are mini-splits efficient?
Very — inverter compressors and zoning mean you only condition the rooms you use, often at a lower running cost than window units or electric heat. Many also qualify for rebates and tax credits.
Do you repair existing mini-splits?
Yes, every brand — refrigerant leaks, fan motors, control boards, condensate issues, and more, with the $80 diagnostic credited toward the repair.
