Get a free second opinion on that HVAC quote
Send us the quote another company gave you. We’ll tell you if the diagnosis fits, if the price is fair, and whether a repair would do instead — free, online, usually within 24 hours.
Have the quote in front of you? Call or text 801-960-5925.
Our advice has nothing riding on it
Canyon Comfort is a repair-only company. We do not sell or install new furnaces, air conditioners or heat pumps — so when someone tells you a $12,000 replacement is your only option, we have no competing system to sell you. If the quote is fair, we say it’s fair. If a $300 part would fix it, we name the part.
Got an HVAC question?
Ask it on the online quote page: a real answer, a second opinion, or a firm quote, whichever you need.
Don’t take our word for it

Three steps, no visit needed
1. Send the quote
A photo of the paperwork is fine. Add the system’s make and model if you have it, and a few photos of the equipment.
2. We review it
Does the diagnosis fit the symptoms? Does the named part fix that problem? Is the price in a fair range? Could a repair do instead? On a replacement quote — is the size right for the house?
3. You decide
You get our read in writing, usually within 24 hours Mon–Fri. No cost, no obligation, and no follow-up sales push — we don’t have anything to sell you anyway.
Want it verified in person? That’s our standard $80 diagnostic, credited toward any repair you approve — you get the measured readings, not just an opinion.
Second opinion questions
Is the HVAC second opinion really free?
Yes, when it comes in online. Send the other company’s quote, the part or system it names, and a few photos through the quote form, and we review it at no cost — usually within 24 hours, Mon–Fri. No obligation, no follow-up sales push.
Why trust a second opinion from another HVAC company?
Because we’re repair-only. We don’t sell or install new systems, so there is no replacement to steer you toward. If the other quote is fair, we’ll tell you it’s fair. If a repair would do the job, you get that in writing with the part named.
What do you need from me for a second opinion?
Three things: the quote itself (a photo is fine), the make and model if you have it, and a few photos of the equipment. More photos from more angles mean a faster, more accurate read.
What do you actually check on the other quote?
Whether the diagnosis fits the symptoms described, whether the named part actually fixes that problem, whether the price is in a fair range for the work, whether a repair could reasonably do instead of a replacement, and on replacement quotes, whether the proposed system size makes sense for the home.
Can you verify the problem in person?
Yes — the standard $80 diagnostic, $120 weeknights after 6pm and all weekend, with the $80 credited toward any repair you approve.
What happens if the other quote is right?
Then that’s the answer you get. A fair quote gets called fair — the point is confidence, not winning the job. If it’s a replacement we can’t do anyway, you lose nothing by asking.
Will you try to sell me a new system I don’t need?
No. Canyon Comfort is a repair-only HVAC contractor in Salt Lake City. We do not sell or install furnaces, air conditioners, or heat pumps, so there is no new system for us to upsell. If your existing HVAC system can be repaired, we’ll explain what we found. If replacement genuinely is the right call, we’ll say so plainly and show you why, and if you’d like, we’ll recommend a local installer we trust. When we tell you it’s time for a new system, you know it’s what we truly believe based on what we found with your equipment. You’re free to get your own replacement quotes and choose any installer you want. If you’d rather have help with that process, our HVAC Install Concierge collects three competing bids from installation companies for you to compare.
Can you tell me if another company’s replacement recommendation is legitimate?
Yes. That is exactly what our free online second opinion is for. Send us the other company’s quote and diagnosis, and we will review whether the reported failure supports the replacement recommendation and whether a repair still makes sense. Canyon Comfort is repair-only and has no new system to sell you, so if replacement genuinely is the right answer, we will tell you that too.
Want us to run the whole replacement?
A second opinion checks one quote. The Install Concierge replaces the entire process — we verify the system, gather three bids, choose, schedule, and inspect the install as it happens, with you involved only at the signature and the invoice.
